North Huntingdon Township is proud to present the Jim Shorkey Sestercentennial Summer Celebration, a 3-day community event celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Township on September 28th, 29th, and 30th from 5 pm until 10 pm nightly. 

The event will feature carnival attractions, amusement rides, live music, food, and a nightly sky show. The nightly sky shows will feature fireworks on September 28th and 29th but September 30th will offer a unique and exquisite drone show with more than 250 drones! Join us for a once in a lifetime 250th anniversary celebration commemorating the sestercentennial incorporation of North Huntingdon Township. A weekend to remember for the next 50 years! 

Additional Details:

FREE ADMISSION - The event is FREE to all guests. There is no admission charge and all amusement rides are FREE. A nominal cost is incurred for food, beverage and games. 

FESTIVAL STYLE SEATING - Bring a lawn chair or blanket for your convenience and comfort. 

NO PETS - Dogs and other pets are not permitted on the festival grounds during the celebration. 

NO ALCOHOL - Alcohol is strictly prohibited on festival grounds. 

PARKING - Due to the size of the event, on-site parking will be limited and restricted to those with state issued Persons with Disabilities Parking Placards. Reliable, professional shuttles provided by First Student Transportation will allow guests to arrive to and from the event safely. Drop off and pick up is at the event site. Please look for the appropriate shuttle bus and their shuttle stop designation before boarding.  Attendees will need to park in one of the following free designated event shuttle lots (see map) located at: Calvary Church (located on Pennsylvania Avenue) Westmoreland Transit Authority Park & Ride Lot (located next to the Sheetz on Carpenter Ln.) Jim Shorkey Kia (located on Route 30) Shuttles will begin at 4:30 pm and continue to run at regular intervals until the end of each night’s event.
